Job summary

Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking a Centre Coordinator for our Parklands Playcentre in New Zealand. This part-time role (10 hours per week) focuses on empowering whānau as first educators and delivering child-led experiences within Playcentre philosophy.

You will support staff and families, model quality sessions, and ensure curriculum, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are met, while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Qualifications

• Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE qualification.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
• First Aid certification.
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Develop whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki through rich, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-model and support delivery of high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide guidance on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Promote Māori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within Playcentre.
