Job summary

Mananui Playcentre in the Bay of Plenty is seeking a Centre Coordinator for Wairaka and Mananui Playcentres. This part-time, permanent role is up to 0.5 FTE with 16.25 hours per week.

You will partner with whānau to build adult capability, provide guidance, and ensure sessions reflect Playcentre philosophy and regulations.

Requirements: Playcentre Diploma Course 3 or equivalent ECE Level 4+, comfort with technology, knowledge of Te Whāriki, NZ residency or valid visa.

Qualifications

• Centre Coordinator focuses on building adult capability and confidence.
• Duties include developing whānau to be first educators and delivering whānau-led sessions.
• Must meet Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for tamariki through rich, meaningful, child-led curriculum experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting high-quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Providing advice on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensuring sessions meet regulatory requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Promoting Māori cultural values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within Playcentre.
