Job summary

Queenstown Playcentre is seeking a Centre Coordinator to work 23 hours per week in a part-time, permanent role based at Queenstown Primary School. You will build adult capability, provide pedagogical guidance, and ensure Playcentre philosophy informs sessions and children’s learning.

The role focuses on whānau empowerment, curriculum development, and health and safety compliance, with emphasis on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mana whenua values. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required.

Qualifications

• Capable of building strong relationships with whānau and staff.
• Understanding of Playcentre philosophy and ECE curriculum principles.
• Experience with adult education and health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support whānau-led sessions with high-quality pedagogy.
• Provide guidance on curriculum, adult education and safety.
• Ensure sessions meet health and safety regulatory requirements.
• Promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori cultural values in practice.
