Job summary

Taradale Playcentre in New Zealand seeks a centre coordinator to work with whānau and staff to deliver high-quality, child-led programmes aligned with Playcentre philosophy.

You will build strong relationships, mentor families, and ensure curriculum, safety and regulatory standards are met while modelling best practices. This role focuses on empowering parents as educators and supporting learning across sessions.

Qualifications

• Passion for Playcentre philosophy and empowering whānau.
• Playcentre Education Diploma Course 3 or an equivalent ECE qualification Level 4+.
• Confidence using technology to support learning and administration.
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Hold and maintain appropriate first aid certification.
• New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Responsibilities

• Developing whānau to be the first and best educators for their tamariki with rich, child-led experiences.
• Role-modelling and supporting the delivery of high quality, whānau-led sessions.
• Provide advice and support on curriculum, adult education and health and safety to support session delivery.
• Ensure sessions meet regulatory and legislative requirements including Health and Safety obligations.
• Recognise Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and promote Māori cultural values.
