Job summary

SLSNZ in Wellington is seeking an experienced Training Delivery Lead to coordinate member training, courses and examinations across the Central Region, aligning local delivery with national standards.

You will develop regional training plans, manage instructors and examiners, maintain delivery calendars and ensure safe, inclusive learner experiences for clubs and volunteers. Flexibility to travel, evenings and weekends, plus strong relationship skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in surf lifesaving education, operational training, or related roles.
• Understanding of SLSNZ learning pathways, qualifications and exam processes.
• SLSNZ Surf Lifeguard Award.
• Strong planning skills with multi-activity coordination.
• Credibility with volunteers and supporting instructors or assessors.
• Relationship management, facilitation and strong communication.
• Ability to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Accurate administration, records and reporting.
• Full New Zealand driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a regional training, course and examination plan.
• Use qualification data and club insights to identify demand and gaps.
• Coordinate a clear delivery calendar for clubs and members.
• Deliver nationally approved training including Surf Lifeguard and First Aid.
• Coordinate venues, equipment, instructors, and examiners.
• Ensure delivery is safe, inclusive and compliant with resources.
• Coordinate examinations and maintain learner evidence and documentation.
• Build relationships with club training officers and Chief Examiners.
• Recruit, support and develop the volunteer delivery workforce.
• Identify access barriers for smaller/remote clubs.
