Placements24 is seeking an experienced Catering Supervisor in Queenstown to oversee daily catering operations, lead a team, and ensure top-quality food and service. The role focuses on staff supervision, inventory management, cleanliness, and safety, with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction.

You will manage the catering team during events, coordinate with chefs and management, and uphold high standards of presentation and service while adapting to varying shifts and peak periods.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in catering or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and service standards.
• Understanding of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the catering team.
• Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and served according to company standards and client requirements.
• Manage inventory of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in all catering areas.
• Train and mentor catering staff, ensuring they are proficient in their roles and adhere to procedures.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and effectively.
• Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Work collaboratively with chefs and management to ensure seamless event execution.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
