Job summary

Fonterra Co-operative Group via Farm Source is hiring at our Waimate store to support customers with farming product advice and merchandising in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring a willingness to learn, good customer service, and a valid driver's license. Previous retail or agricultural experience is welcome. This casual role offers flexible shifts with opportunities to grow within the co-operative.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service or sales experience is welcome.
• Must be physically capable of repetitive lifting (e.g., 25 kg bags).
• Willingness to learn and grow within the agriculture/dairy industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound farming product advice to customers.
• Assist with merchandising and day-to-day store tasks.
• Deliver excellent customer service to both farm and retail customers.
• Be a hands-on team player able to work across shifts as needed.

By joining our nationwide Farm Source store team, you’re joining a group of agricultural experts and setting yourself up for an outstanding career.

Our Waimate store is looking for an individual who is keen to kick start their career at Fonterra. As the newest addition to our store, you’ll provide sound farming product advice to our loyal customers. Getting stuck into everything from merchandising and customer service, you’ll never be bored in this fast-paced role!

With the opportunity to hone your agricultural expertise and open the door to multiple career pathways throughout the wider business, there couldn’t be a better place to start.

You’ll be a self-motivated, adaptable team member with excellent customer service communication skills, along with a genuine willingness to learn and grow. You’ll have a high level of physical fitness; we are looking for someone who is hands on and able to sustain repetitive manual handling such as lifting our 25kg bags of product on a daily basis.

Ideally, you’ll have some prior customer service/sales experience and a connection to the agricultural industry. That said, we’re equally open to those looking to make a move straight off farm or who are current customer experts keen to learn all about the ag/dairy industry.

Sound like you, other key things we’re on the lookout for includes:

• Rural experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
• A good level of physical fitness – you’ll have no trouble getting your daily steps in!

This is a casual role with an opportunity to pick up on additional shifts when required.
