Fonterra is seeking a Technical Sales Representative (TSR) to join our Farm Source team in Longburn. This role focuses on partnering with our on-farm customer base while actively seeking out new market opportunities in Taranaki.
The ideal candidate will have strong ties to the agricultural industry, and prior sales experience, and possess a natural ability to build and maintain relationships with farmers. At Fonterra, we value growth, collaboration, and support for our employees as they develop in their careers.
At Fonterra, we want everyone to feel they can be themselves.
Whether you're early in your career or ready for your next step, Fonterra offers a unique opportunity to grow with a global dairy co‑operative that values care, collaboration, and contribution. Owned by New Zealand dairy farmers and supported by a dedicated team, we are all working together to create a better future. Imagine tomorrow with us, where your career can grow, and you can create positive change.
We love Kiwi dairy farmers and know they're pretty awesome. For generations, they have relied on hard work, ingenuity, and each other to create the kind of goodness that fuels our families, connects our communities and supports our economy.
At Farm Source, the same co‑operative spirit that our farmers and their communities share drives our team. We make farming easier so farmers can continue to concentrate on what they do best – producing high‑quality New Zealand milk in the most sustainable way. This means growing and supporting the right people – smart people with plenty of 'roll-your‑sleeves‑up' energy to rise to the challenge.
Whether you're on the farm getting your gumboots dirty or connecting over a coffee at our local stores, you'll get the mahi done as part of a trusted team – backed by good people, the right products, innovative solutions, and industry‑leading expertise.
We have an exciting new TSR opportunity within our Farm Source business! Put your unparalleled people skills and farming know‑how to excellent use and join our Technical Sales team with remit around Taranaki. You’ll quickly embed yourself as part of our tight‑knit farming community.
As a trusted advisor and ag‑product expert, you’ll partner with our current on‑farm customer base while actively hunting out new opportunities, looking to grow market share and build your brand in the region.
This role will give you the opportunity to take your career to the next level and expand into the corporate space, looking after large accounts.
When you’re not out on the road, you’ll find yourself in our local Longburn Farm Source store, where you’ll work alongside our highly engaged Farm Source team to deliver the best service around!
We’re looking for people with a strong affinity to the agricultural/dairy industry with a streak of competitive nature and the ability to build lasting and influential relationships. You’ll need credible proactive sales and customer‑experience experience in a similar role.
Our ideal candidate has a connection to the farming industry with expertise in either animal health, nutrition, or agronomy. You will combine this knowledge with your willingness to learn and drive for results, and your natural ability to build and maintain strong, long‑lasting relationships with our farmers.
To be successful you’ll be a collaborative, proactive, team player, able to work autonomously. You’ll also need to be organised, process‑driven and enjoy structure to your day.
At Fonterra, our values of Good Together, Better Every Day, and Every Drop Counts are for everyone – no matter your background, identity or experience. These values guide us in delivering exceptional outcomes for our farmers, customers, communities, and each other.
We care for our people globally. Our comprehensive benefits support your well‑being, development, and work‑life balance:

Applications close at midnight on 17th July.
