Job summary

Red Badge is seeking casual Event Security Staff in Wellington to help create safe, enjoyable experiences at major concerts, sports and community events. You will welcome guests, monitor the venue, conduct checks, and guide crowds with professionalism.

Applicants should have a clean record, NZ eligibility, 18+, and ideally previous security or customer service experience. Flexible shifts and competitive weekly pay are offered by Red Badge Group.

Qualifications

• Clean, positive attitude and professional appearance.
• Experience in live events is a plus.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Eligible to work in NZ and 18+.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with friendly energy and maintain venue safety.
• Monitor venue and address issues as they arise.
• Perform bag checks and ticket/accreditation screening.
• Guide crowds and manage crowd movement safely.
• Control gate and vehicle access with confidence.
• Communicate clearly to de-escalate situations.
• Ensure events feel safe, smooth, and enjoyable.
• Represent Red Badge Group with professionalism.

From concerts and sports to community celebrations, you’ll help keep the vibe high and the experience seamless for every guest.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming guests with friendly, positive energy

• Keeping an eye on the venue and stepping in when something needs attention

• Carrying out bag checks, screening, and ticket/accreditation checks

• Guiding crowds and helping people move safely through event spaces

• Managing gate and vehicle access with confidence

• Communicating clearly and calmly when situations need de‑escalation

• Making sure every event feels safe, smooth, and enjoyable

• Representing Red Badge Group with pride and professionalism

What You’ll Bring

• A clean criminal record

• Experience in security, hospitality, customer service, or similar (bonus!)

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Eligibility to work in NZ and be 18+

• A current NZ COA security licence, or be eligible to obtain one
