Job summary

Green Light Recruitment is seeking a reliable driver for a Christchurch-based manufacturer specialising in high-end windows and doors. You will drive a manual Class 1 truck from Christchurch to Picton, take the ferry to Wellington, and deliver goods between Wellington and New Plymouth, with long-distance routes and overnight stays.

The role covers ferry travel, accommodation, meals and petrol, with casual 2-3 day assignments and a pay rate of $28 per hour plus 8% holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Full, clean NZ Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Confident and proficient driving manual vehicles.
• Able to pass a drug test and medical check.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Comfortable with long-distance driving and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Drive a manual Class 1 truck from Christchurch to Picton, ferry to Wellington, then deliver between Wellington and New Plymouth.
• Ensure goods are transported safely and delivered on time across NZ routes.
• Adapt to long-distance trips and overnight stays as required.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a Christchurch-based manufacturer specialising in high-end windows and doors. With multiple sites across New Zealand, they are looking for a reliable driver to assist with transporting goods between the South and North Islands.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role involves driving a manual Class 1 truck from Christchurch to Picton, taking the ferry across to Wellington, and delivering goods between Wellington and New Plymouth. You’ll be responsible for ensuring goods are transported safely and delivered on time. The role involves long-distance driving, ferry crossings, and overnight stays, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road and travelling around New Zealand.
