Job summary

The Salvation Army, Royal Oak Community Ministries in Auckland, is seeking a Navigator to build relationships and support people facing life challenges. You will enhance wellbeing by promoting collaboration, social change, and empowerment within our Community Ministries programme.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum Level 5 in social services, at least two years in case-management, and a values-driven approach to helping diverse individuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 qualification in social services or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience in case-management and wrap-around support.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds experiencing hardship.
• Commitment to journey with people to support personal goals.
• Ability to adapt approach to individual needs and interests.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach with maturity and empathy.
• Understanding of The Salvation Army's mission and Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

• Show acceptance, inclusion and genuine interest in people and their aspirations.
• Listen, relate and affirm people to identify and create solutions increasing skills and resilience.
• Provide advocacy and support that builds confidence in managing important life issues.
