Job summary

INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION & TRADING LIMITED is seeking two carpenters to join our busy team in Whangarei. This full-time role offers a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week and diverse carpentry work across residential and commercial projects.

The successful candidates will review drawings, cut and assemble timber, install framing and cladding, and adhere to health and safety standards while delivering high-quality service to customers. Good communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

At least two years of work experience in construction, or a construction-related certificate.
Good communication and coordination skills to work as a team member.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Review drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
Order and select timber and building materials, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
Prepare layouts, cut materials to size, and assemble components using nails, screws, and adhesives.
Construct and install framework, roof structures, sub-flooring, and floorboards, ensuring structural accuracy.
Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and door and window frames.
Assemble and fit pre-cut wood to form structures and fittings for installation.
Cut and shape wood joints for strong and secure connections.
Repair and modify existing fixtures and fittings.
Adhere to health and safety standards.
Other reasonable tasks required by management.
