Job summary

INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION & TRADING LIMITED in New Zealand seeks two carpenters to join our busy team. This full-time role offers a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week and the opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial projects.

You will review drawings and specifications, order materials, prepare layouts, cut and assemble timber, and install framing, roofing and cladding. Two years' construction experience or a construction-related certificate is required.

Qualifications

At least two years of work experience in construction, or a certificate in a construction-related area can replace the work experience requirement.
Good communication and coordination skills to work as a team member.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Review drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
Order and select timber and building materials, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
Prepare layouts, cut materials to size, and assemble components using nails, screws, and adhesives.
Construct and install framework, roof structures, sub-flooring, and floorboards, ensuring structural accuracy.
Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and door and window frames.
Assemble and fit pre-cut wood to form structures and fittings for installation.
Cut and shape wood joints for strong and secure connections.
Repair and modify existing fixtures and fittings.
Adhere to health and safety standards.
Other reasonable tasks required by management.
