Job summary

INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION & TRADING LIMITED is looking for two carpenters to join our busy team in Northland. This full-time role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week and involves delivering high-quality timber framing and finishing work on diverse projects.

You will review drawings, select materials, cut and assemble components, and ensure workmanship meets safety standards. Applicants should have at least two years in construction or a relevant certificate, and be able to work collaboratively.

Qualifications

• At least two years of construction experience; a construction-related certificate can replace experience.
• Good communication and coordination skills to work as a team member.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation methods.
• Order and select timber and building materials, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
• Prepare layouts, cut materials, and assemble components using nails, screws, and adhesives.
• Construct and install framework, roof structures, sub-flooring, and floorboards, ensuring structural accuracy.
• Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and door and window frames.
• Assemble and fit pre-cut wood to form structures and fittings for installation.
• Cut and shape wood joints for strong and secure connections.
• Repair and modify existing fixtures and fittings.
• Adhere to health and safety standards.
• Other reasonable tasks required by management.
