Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in South Auckland is seeking a Permanent Caregiver Recruitment and Support Supervisor to lead a team of social workers and ensure excellent caregiver support and decision-making.

You will drive caregiver journeys from applications to assessments, training and ongoing support, using evidence-based practice and strong HR leadership. A social work qualification and SWRB registration are required.

Qualifications

• Social work qualification recognised by SWRB and a current Annual Practising Certificate
• Full registration with SWRB and current practising certificate
• Sound statutory social work knowledge and practice
• Experience with people management, including coaching and mentoring
• Strong relationship building experience across communities
• A current, full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
• A high level of written and verbal communication skills
• An aptitude to make a difference with resilience and the ability to work under pressure
• Strong cultural competency and confident in Te Ao Māori approaches
• Knowledge of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti O Waitangi and Pacific peoples’ culture

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of social workers focused on caregiver recruitment and support
• Uphold best practice and ensure high-quality service delivery
• Support social workers through caregiver applications, assessments, training and ongoing support
• Provide advice that is trusted and valued by the team
