Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in New Zealand is seeking a Caregiver Social Worker to recruit, assess and support caregivers, helping tamariki and rangatahi achieve safe, stable homes. You will work with caregivers, whānau and other agencies to build tailored strategies and ensure caregivers have resources and information they need.

The role requires a Social Work qualification and SWRB registration, resilience, and strong relationship management, with opportunities for training,

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with SWRB.
• Full registration with New Zealand’s SWRB and annual practicing certificate.
• Demonstrated resilience, critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess and support caregivers to provide safe homes for tamariki.
• Partner with caregivers, whānau and non-whānau to tailor support.
• Collaborate with child’s Social Worker and other agencies to address needs.
• Develop individualised strategies to achieve great outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi.
• Provide ongoing guidance and resources to caregivers.
