Job summary

Oranga Tamariki is seeking a Supervisor Caregiver Social Worker in South Auckland to lead a team focused on valuing and supporting caregivers. You will guide social workers through caregiver journeys from applications and assessments to training and ongoing support, ensuring safe, evidence-based decisions.

You must hold a SWRB-recognised Social Work qualification, be registered, and bring strong people-management and cross-cultural skills to a fast-paced service for tamariki and rangatahi.

Qualifications

• A social work qualification recognised by SWRB and current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Full registration with SWRB and current practicing certificate.
• Sound statutory social work knowledge and practice.
• Experience with people management, coaching and mentoring.
• Strong relationship building across communities.
• Full NZ driver's licence and strong communication skills.
• Resilience, ability to work under pressure, and Te Ao Māori competency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of social workers to deliver high-quality caregiver services.
• Support caregivers throughout applications, assessments, training and ongoing support.
• Guide social workers to make safe, evidence-based caregiver decisions.
