Job summary

Summerset is seeking a caring Caregiver for our Casebrook Village in Christchurch. The role provides personal care and assists residents with daily activities, meals, and mobility as part of a supportive team.

You will work 27.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 am–1:00 pm, on a fixed-term basis ending 17 February 2027. Experience in aged care and NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or a similar role.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes.
• Aiding with hygiene and daily personal care.
• Assisting with individual care plans, walks and exercises.

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our Casebrook village you will work as part of a team that creates the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle for our residents. This role is varied and centres around providing personal care and assistance to our resident’s daily lives.

Typical Duties Include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

This is a part-time and fixed term position ending on the 17th of February 2027. The roster is Tuesday to Saturday from 7.00 am to 1.00 pm, working 27.5 hours weekly.

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll Bring With You:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3
