Job summary

Summerset Holdings in Waikanae village is seeking a compassionate Caregiver to deliver resident-directed care for people living with dementia in our Memory Care Centre. This full-time role requires AM/PM shifts on a 4 on, 2 off roster, supporting meals, hygiene, and activity participation.

You will help implement individual care plans and foster meaningful activities, building trust with residents and their families. We value empathy, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Empathy, kindness and patience to care for residents.
• Experience in aged care or a similar role.
• Experience with dementia care.
• Strong verbal communication; ability to build lasting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals and help with mealtimes.
• Aid with hygiene, such as showering.
• Assist with individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises.
• Help with activities and engage residents (games, puzzles, etc.).

Job Description:

As a Caregiver at our Waikanae villageyou will work as part of our compassionate team in the Memory Care Centre, where we deliver high-quality, resident-directed care for people living with dementia. Our secure, specialist environment supports safety while promoting a fulfilling and enjoyable lifestyle, with each resident’s quality of life at the heart of everything we do.Our care is resident-directed, meaning we tailor care and support to each individual’s preferences, values, and needs

This is a full time position, working AM/PM shifts on a 4 on 2 off roster.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering meals and helping with mealtimes
• Aiding with hygiene, such as showering
• Assisting with Individual care plan requirements, such as walks and exercises
• Helping with activities, such as puzzles, table tennis etc

Qualifications:

You will naturally be empathetic, kind and patient, and thrive in a role where your compassion and care make a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll bring with you:

• Experience in aged care or a similar role
• Experience with dementia care
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
• Ability to work a roster pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off
