Job summary

Bupa Tōtara Gardens Care Home in Whangārei is seeking a Level 4 Caregiver with medication competency to join our team. You will deliver person-first care to residents across rest home, hospital, and dementia levels, under supervision of qualified staff, and build meaningful relationships with residents and families.

This permanent part-time role offers average 25 hours weekly with AM shifts, a 4-on/2-off roster, and the chance to contribute to a safe, supportive home.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Caregiver with medication competency and NZ work entitlement.
• Experience in aged care or similar role preferred.
• Confident communication and teamwork abilities.

Job description

That’s why we are seeking a like-minded Level 4 & Med CompCaregiver to join our Bupa Tōtara Gardens Care Home located in Tikipunga, Whangārei. You will help us rise to the challenges of enriching the lives of society’s most vulnerable.

Hours & Roster Details:

• Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
• Hours: Average 25 Hours per week
• Shift Time: All AM shifts (mix of 7am - 1pm and 7am - 3pm)
• Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)

As a Caregiver at Bupa, you will work under the guidance and supervision of qualified nursing staff and management, to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. You will be encouraged to develop deeper relationships with residents and their families, delivering the highest quality person first care to residents in line with their individual care plan.

Where You Will Make an Impact

• Provide personal care assistance with daily living, whilsttreating our56 residents with respect and dignity across rest home, hospital, and dementia levels of care.
• Mobility assistance in accordance with resident care plans.
• Maintain accurate health care documentation as required.
• Encourage all residents to participate in scheduled social activities.
• Contribute to the development of a positive, safe, home environment for residents, visitors, and the wider team.

What About You

• Level 4 Caregiver who holds medication competency.
• Previous experience ideally within aged care or in a similar role.
• Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, dedication to care, and passion for enriching the lives of the elderly.
• Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
