Job summary

Bupa Parklands Care Home on Papanui Road in Strowan, Christchurch, seeks a dedicated Caregiver to support mobility, care documentation, and community activities within a warm, safe environment.

Hours & Roster Details:

We have a variety of permanent positions available, working on a 6-weekly rotating roster pattern (Monday - Sunday):

1) Permanent, part-time role: average of 18.6hours per week

• PM shifts, 4.00apm to 8:00pm, 4 on 2 off roster pattern

2) Permanent, part-time role:average 30hours per week

• Shift cover so need to be available for AM and PM shifts, 4 on 2 off roster pattern

3) Permanent, part-time role:average 18.6hours per week

• AM Shift only, 9.00am to 1.00pm, 4 on 2 off roster pattern

4) Permanent, full-time role:average 32hours per week

• Night Shift only, 11.00pm to 7.00am, 4 on 2 off roster pattern

5) Casual role:no guaranteed hours

• Shifts picked up based on availability and demand.

Thepurposeofthisjob

Bupa Parklands Care Home is located on Papanui Road in Strowan, Christchurch, close to the communities ofPapanui, Merivale, and St Albans. The home offers rest home, hospital, and specialist dementia (psychogeriatric) care.

As a Caregiver, you’ll work alongside a supportive team to:

• Assist with mobility in line with individual care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely care documentation
• Encourage residents to engage in social activities and community life
• Help create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and your teammates

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Hold a Level 0-4 Caregiving qualification, with current medication competency and a strong understanding of safe medication practices
• Bring proven experience in aged care or a comparable healthcare environment
• Exhibit genuine passion for supporting the elderly
• Possess confident communication and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Computer literacy across MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Hold legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
