Job summary

Care on Call (NZ) Ltd in Wellington is seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker for Wellington House. You will provide person-centred support to help residents live safely, with dignity, and as independently as possible, following individual care plans.

The role includes helping with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, and community involvement. You will build positive relationships with residents, families, and health professionals, document wellbeing, and report

Qualifications

• Provide person-centred support to help clients live safely and independently.
• Assist with personal care, daily living activities, meals, and household tasks.
• Follow service plans while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
• Maintain documentation and report changes, risks, incidents, or concerns.
• Full NZ Driver Licence and legal right to work in New Zealand.

Wellington House - Residential Support Worker
At Care on Call, we support people to live independently, safely, and with dignity. We are looking for experienced, compassionate, and reliable Residential Support Workers to join our Wellington House team. Availability for the roster below is essential.
Fortnightly Roster
Week 1 Shift Times
Monday 6:00am – 9:00am
Saturday 5:00pm – 10:00pm; 10:00pm – 6:00am
Sunday 6:00am – 9:00am; 5:00pm – 10:00pm; 10:00pm – 6:00am

Week 2 Shift Times
Monday 6:00am – 9:00am
Wednesday 5:00pm – 10:00pm and 10:00pm – 6:00am
Thursday 6:00am – 9:00am
Sunday 5:00pm – 10:00pm and 10:00pm – 6:00am

About the Role

• You will provide person-centred support that helps clients live safely, confidently, and as independently as possible.
• Support clients with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, household tasks, and community participation.
• Follow individual service plans while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
• Build positive relationships with clients, family/whānau, colleagues, and health professionals.
• Monitor wellbeing, maintain accurate documentation, and report any changes, risks, incidents, or concerns.
• Follow organisational policies, health and safety requirements, and the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights.
• Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training or experience is ideal but not essential.

Essential Requirements

• Full New Zealand Driver Licence and reliable transport.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Ability to pass Police Vetting.
• Completed Level 2 NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualification or higher.
