Job summary

Station Pottery Cafe in Rangiora, New Zealand, is seeking a Café Manager to lead day-to-day cafe operations and the pottery studio. You’ll supervise staff, ensure friendly service, and maintain cleanliness and organisation across both the cafe and studio spaces.

You’ll coordinate service flow, pottery-painting sessions, customer bookings, stock control and health & safety, while supporting private events and delivering an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

• Proven café, restaurant or busy hospitality experience with supervisory or shift-lead responsibilities.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front-of-house service, ensure accurate orders and timely delivery.
• Protect cash, stock and property; report discrepancies the same day.
• Keep dining areas, bathrooms and public spaces clean and safe during service.
• Handle guest feedback calmly and escalate serious issues to the Owner.
• Support kitchen with service flow and communicate delays clearly.
• Follow food safety and Health & Safety requirements consistently.
• Manage pottery-painting sessions, bookings and studio stock movement.
