The Trainee Cable Jointer position involves education and supervised hands-on work to terminate, joint and repair cables up to 33 kV, with responsibilities spanning installation, maintenance and safety compliance on both overhead and underground networks.

Qualifications

• Trainee role requires education and experience to undertake cable termination, jointing and repairs up to 33 kV.
• Ability to work under supervision in live or potentially live electrical environments.
• Commitment to safety, procedures and legislation relevant to the scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Repair damaged cables up to 33 kV and correctly prepare the area.
• Provide line construction services including trenching and cable laying.
• Maintain and test equipment to required standard and perform maintenance on assets.
• Terminate new cables into switches, transformers and up to 33 kV.
• Livening cables on completion of work and liaise with supervisors and other operators.
