Job summary

Unison Contracting is hiring a Cable Jointer in Dunedin for a permanent, full-time position with secure fortnightly pay in a supportive environment.

The role involves terminating, jointing and repairing high-voltage cables, installing overhead and underground services, and restoring lines after faults. Requirements include an EWRB certificate and at least two years of relevant experience, plus strong communication and electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Current EWRB registered cable jointer certificate is required.
• Two years' experience as a cable jointer or line mechanic is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of electrical practices.

Responsibilities

• Terminate, joint and repair 400 V, 11 kV and 33 kV cables.
• Terminate new cables into switches, transformers, and 33 kV joints.
• Install new equipment and services for overhead and underground cables.
• Repair and restore lines and equipment after faults.

We are currently looking for a Cable Jointer to join our team in Dunedin. This is a permanent, full-time role with guaranteed fortnightly pay in a stable and supportive environment.

What you'll do:

• To terminate, joint and repair 400 volt, 11,000 volt and 33,000 volt cables.
• To undertake termination of new cables into switches, transformers, OCB's up to 33 kV, and undertake inline 11kV and 33kV through joints.
• To install new equipment and services both overhead lines and underground cables.
• To repair and restore after fault damage lines, cables and equipment.
