Job summary

NZ Labour Hire seeks a skilled Cabinet Maker & Installer to join our team on a casual basis in the Mount Wellington and Auckland area. You will design, fabricates and install custom cabinetry with attention to detail and safety.

This role involves reading drawings, selecting materials, operating woodworking machinery, installing cabinets, and communicating progress with clients and project managers. Health and safety knowledge is essential, with kitchen or bathroom cabinet experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in carpentry, cabinet making or joinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Proficiency with woodworking machinery, including saws, routers, sanders and finishing equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Current knowledge of Health and Safety at Work.
• Preferred: experience in kitchen or bathroom cabinetry installation.

Responsibilities

• Designing and fabricating custom cabinets and cabinetry components according to client specifications and technical drawings
• Operating and maintaining a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools with precision and safety
• Selecting appropriate materials, including timber, plywood, veneers and hardware, based on project requirements and quality standards
• Measuring, cutting, assembling and finishing cabinet components to ensure accurate fit and aesthetic appeal
• Installing completed cabinetry in client properties, ensuring proper alignment, secure fastening and professional presentation
• Providing on-site problem-solving and adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, following health and safety protocols at all times
• Communicating effectively with team members, project managers and clients regarding project progress and any issues
