Job summary

ANZCO Foods Limited in Blenheim is seeking a Butcher or Apprentice for our Local Butcher store. This full-time role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with rostered Saturday work and occasional overtime.

Duties include taking orders, preparing meat by cutting, boning, trimming and slicing, and packing to customer specifications. We welcome applicants with previous butchery experience, or those with the right attitude to learn.

As part of the ANZCO Foods Group, The Local Butcher supplies the finest export quality beef, lamb and smallgoods to discerning home cooks, chefs, cafes and restaurants throughout the Marlborough region.

Due to increased demand, we are looking for a Butcher or an Apprentice for our Blenheim store. This is a full time Monday to Friday role, working 40 hours per week, with rostered Saturday work. From time to time there will also be overtime. Duties will include taking orders, preparing meat (cutting, boning, trimming and slicing) and packing meat to our customers' requirements. This may include completing butchery tasks for the Wholesale/Food Service areas as well as the retail store. We are a small and productive team, so we are looking for a proven team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Previous butchery experience is advantageous; however, we are also open to taking on an apprentice who has the right skills, attitude and willingness to learn. You will be well organised, able to manage a variable workload, and have a strong work ethic. We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and works well as part of a team.
