Job summary

Centrapay seeks a commercially minded business development professional to expand its channel partnerships across New Zealand. You will identify POS vendors, gateways, PSPs and resellers, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, and drive revenue growth through channel partners.

You will work with cross-functional teams to negotiate and launch partnerships, manage pipelines, and stay ahead in open banking and digital wallet payments. Based in Auckland with NZ driving licence.

Qualifications

• Commercially minded business development professional with knowledge of the New Zealand payments market.
• Experience in payments, banking or fintech.
• Ability to establish relationships with channel contacts and spot opportunities for both organisations.
• Experience in partner or channel work and go-to-market activity.

Responsibilities

• Find the right partners: identify POS/terminal providers, gateways, PSPs and resellers with reach into merchants.
• Build relationships with commercial, product and operational leads and shape proposals.
• Close deals from discovery to negotiation with support from senior colleagues.
• Get partners live: drive agreements from signature to launch.
• Own your pipeline: maintain account plans, forecasts and CRM, hit revenue targets.
• Grow knowledge of open banking, digital wallets, POS, in-store and ecommerce payments and share learnings.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance and Marketing to progress opportunities.

About The Role

Join Centrapay's Channel team and help bring open banking and digital wallet payments to merchants across New Zealand. You will build relationships with contacts at POS and payment terminal providers, payment gateways, resellers, system integrators and ecommerce platforms that influence how New Zealand businesses accept payments.

This is a market-facing business development role focused on supporting and growing distribution and revenue through our channel partners. You will work closely with senior team members while owning parts of the channel process yourself.

What You'll Do

• Find the right partners: Identify and qualify POS and terminal providers, gateways, PSPs and resellers with real reach into merchants
• Build relationships: Connect with commercial, product and operational leads, and shape propositions that work for both sides
• Close deals: Take opportunities from discovery to negotiation, backed by senior colleagues on the big ones
• Get partners live: Drive agreements from signature to launch, getting Centrapay live on their platforms
• Own your pipeline: Keep account plans, forecasts and CRM sharp, and hit your revenue, transaction and activation targets
• Know the market: Build your expertise in open banking, digital wallets, POS and in-store and ecommerce payments, and share what you learn
• Rally the team: Work with Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance and Marketing to progress opportunities

Who we're looking for

• You are a commercially minded business development professional building your knowledge of the New Zealand payments market with some experience in payments, banking or fintech
• You are comfortable establishing relationships with channel contacts and can spot where there is a genuine opportunity for both organisations
• You bring energy, curiosity and good judgement and balance the needs of the partner with Centrapay's commercial priorities
• Experience or strong interest in partner or channel work, including supporting go-to-market activity
• Strong negotiation skills and confidence handling partnership contracts
• The ability to build trust, with both commercial and technical stakeholders
• A genuine hunter mindset: proactive, persistent, and motivated by the win
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport
• Willingness to travel to meet partners
• You'll be based in Auckland with a full New Zealand driving licence
