BD is seeking a Business Development Manager - Healthcare Automation & Robotics to drive growth across New Zealand. You will identify opportunities in hospitals and pharmacy networks, build strategic partnerships and lead long-term, high-value projects from concept to implementation.
Apply your experience selling complex healthcare technology, with strong commercial and financial acumen, to engage executives and navigate multi-stakeholder deals.
We are the people who give possibilities purpose BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Drive the adoption of automation, robotics and connected healthcare technology across New Zealand. At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible. As the Business Development Manager - Healthcare Automation & Robotics, you’ll lead the growth of one of BD’s most innovative technology portfolios across New Zealand. This is a newly created role designed specifically to unlock new growth opportunities across our Medication Management Solutions business. Working alongside the Account Managers who will also be supporting existing customers and protecting market‑leading positions, your focus will be entirely different: identifying new opportunities, opening doors, building strategic partnerships and delivering long‑term growth across the country. You’ll work across BD Rowa Hospital, BD Rowa Retail, Pyxis™ and Infusion Solutions, helping hospitals and pharmacies transform workflows through automation, robotics, software and connected technologies. This is not a role for someone seeking quick wins or transactional sales. It is a role for an experienced capital sales professional who enjoys building relationships at executive level, developing compelling business cases and navigating complex stakeholder environments. Success will come from your ability to engage everyone from pharmacy leaders and operational stakeholders through to CEOs, CFOs, procurement executives and healthcare decision‑makers. If you enjoy creating opportunities where none currently exist and seeing large‐scale projects through from concept to implementation, you’ll thrive in this role.
You’ll drive business growth by identifying, qualifying and securing new opportunities across hospitals, pharmacy groups and healthcare networks throughout New Zealand.
You’re an experienced sales professional who understands how to create opportunities, influence senior stakeholders and win complex deals. You’ve built your career selling solutions rather than products and understand that large‑scale healthcare projects require patience, business acumen and a strategic mindset. You know how to engage executive stakeholders, build compelling commercial cases and maintain momentum over sales cycles that may run for months, and sometimes years.
Candidates may come from MedTech, healthcare automation, imaging, robotics, healthcare IT, hospital technology, software‑enabled capital equipment or other complex solution‑selling environments. Experience working with hospitals, pharmacy networks, corporate healthcare groups or government stakeholders will be highly regarded.
