Job summary

SBS Bank is seeking a fixed-term Business Analyst based at our Invercargill head office to support business improvement and change initiatives across SBS. You’ll ensure processes are clear, well documented, consistently applied, and continually improved to support compliance, operational excellence, and positive customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, job aids, and process guides for Future Bank Programme.
• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to document current-state processes, risks, and controls.
• Translate current-state processes into future-state processes aligned with the new core banking platform.
• Document future-state processes using approved process mapping standards and tools.
• Identify process gaps, duplication, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve delivery.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and communicate process information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

To help us with this, we are searching for a fixed-term Business Analyst to join our team based in head office, Invercargill.

What you'll be busy with:

• Creating and maintaining clear standard operating procedures, work instructions, job aids, operational guides, and process repositories for Future Bank Programme.
  
• Working with SMEs and stakeholders to understand current-state processes, workflows, requirements, risks, and controls.
• Translating current-state processes into future-state processes aligned with the new core banking platform.
• Documenting future-state business processes using approved process mapping standards and tools.
  
• Identifying process gaps, duplication, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve how work is delivered.
  
• Building trusted stakeholder relationships and communicate process information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

What you'll bring:

• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with people across the business.
  
• A practical mindset, with the ability to simplify complex information and support improvements that benefit our people and customers.
  
• Tertiary level qualification, relevant business analysis training, process improvement training or equivalent practical experience

This role is a full time, fixed-term role up to the end of December 2027, with hours of work of Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm
