Job summary

Waiheke Bus Company, part of Fullers360, operates a seasonal public transport network on Waiheke Island. This is a permanent, full-time bus driver role with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, predominantly on Waiheke Island.

You will drive urban services and occasional charters/transfers, delivering excellent customer service in a scenic, semirural setting. The role requires a full clean Class 2 licence with a passenger endorsement, strong communication, and the ability to pass pre-employment

Qualifications

• Full clean class 2 licence with passenger endorsement is required.
• Clear communication and a patient approach is required.
• Must pass pre-employment screening (TDDA drug screening, medical, references).
• Rostered role with early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays.
• Role based on Waiheke Island; living in Auckland CBD or Waiheke is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive urban services and some charters/transfers when available.
• Deliver excellent customer service and safety-focused driving.
• Interact with locals and holiday makers while representing Waiheke Bus Company.

About us

Waiheke Bus Company forms part of Fullers360 and operates a public transport network on behalf of Auckland Transport. There are four main routes, running from Matiatia ferry terminal to Oneroa, Blackpool, Surfdale, Palm Beach, Ostend, Rocky Bay, Onetangi and Kennedy Point.

We also operate school bus services to the main schools on the island. We provide a regular, punctual bus service including buses that meet every ferry departure and arrival to the island.

About the role

As a semirural Bus Driver you'll interact with friendly locals and happy holiday goers whilst enjoying the island lifestyle and stunning views that Waiheke Island has to offer. Every day will be an opportunity to deliver fantastic customer service and share a unique and safe experience with our passengers, driving urban services and some charters/transfers when available.

Our bus drivers are everyday people. They enjoy working with customers, love driving through Waiheke's unique landscape and take pride in their job - acknowledging that safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
This is for a permanent - full time role with a guarantee of 40 hours per week, based on Waiheke Island.

About your skills and experience

• A full clean class 2 drivers licence and a passenger endorsement is required
• Clear communication and a patient approach is required
• You will need to pass our pre-employment screening and background checks which include TDDA (drug screening), medical assessment and reference checks
• Rostered role, which includes early starts, late finishes, and some weekends and public holidays.
• This role is Waiheke based, therefore it is desired you will live in Auckland CBD or Waiheke Island (due to the commute)
