Job summary

Fullers Group on Waiheke Island is hiring fixed-term, part-time Bus Drivers to cover the busy summer period. Start early October 2026 and work through to late April 2027, averaging 30+ hours per week, with shifts starting and finishing at Ostend, Waiheke Island.

You will need a Class 2 or 4 licence with P endorsement, NZ work rights, and a safe driving record. The role includes weekend and public holiday rosters and free ferry travel for employees.

Qualifications

• Holder of a Class 2 or 4 licence with P endorsement.
• Right to work in NZ.
• Strong communication and friendly demeanor.
• Excellent driving record and safety compliance.
• Previous tour driving experience.
• Willing to live on Waiheke Island or commute to the depot in Ostend.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service and deliver memorable experiences for visitors.
• Rostered shifts across a 5/7 schedule, with start/end at Waiheke Bus Company on Ostend Road.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and maintain a clean driving record.

We're gearing up for our busiest period with summer around the corner and will be employing Bus Drivers on a fixed term, part-time basis. Ideally you'll be able to start early October and work through till approximately the end of April 2027.

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and exploring beautiful destinations? Waiheke Bus Company needs you! We're seeking fixed-term Bus Drivers that can work 30+ hours a week to join our team and create memorable experiences for our visitors.

Skills and Experience

• YOU MUST hold a class 2 or 4 licence and your P endorsement to be eligible for this position
• You must have the right to work in NZ to be considered for the role
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor
• Excellent driving record and adherence to safety regulations
• Previous tour driving experience
• WBC is a 7-day operation - you will be rostered 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and public holidays
• You will need to pass our pre-employment screening and background checks
• You must live on Waiheke Island OR be willing to commute to and from our depot in Ostend, Waiheke Island

Summer crew overview

• Starting early October 2026
• Fixed term contract at 20 hours per week until April 2027
• Starting and ending your shifts at the Waiheke Bus Company located on Ostend Road
• Need to be able and willing to work over the Christmas and New Year's period
• Need to be available to work part-time hours

Hours of work

(we operate between 5am - 1am, Monday to Sunday)

• Average of 9-hour days starting as rostered

Salary and perks

• Training / Induction rate $27.85 per hour, once signed off hourly rate of $32.89 per hour, paid weekly
• Free ferry travel for our employees for work and leisure
• Free bus travel on island (for the employee)
