  • 5–7 years’ experience delivering commercial, institutional, educational, or public sector building/renewal projects.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, procurement processes, and capital budgets.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent capital works projects in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Professional qualification, or working towards, in infrastructure or project management (IPENZ, PMI).
  • Proven track record in building strong stakeholder and team engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver building and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
  • Work with campus stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and the Facilities Management team to meet scope, budget, programme and quality requirements.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and align with UCOL's strategic objectives.

The Facilities Management team is critical to UCOL’s operation. Responsible for maintenance, asset management, planning, fleet management, and property operations, the team work across multiple campuses in the Manawatu, Whanganui, Wairarapa, and Horowhenua regions.

Our primary role is to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for all members of the campus communities.

The Buildings Project Manager is a key member of the Facilities Management team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering building and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with campus stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and the wider Facilities Management team, the role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved scope, budget, programme, and quality requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven project management experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You will be a proactive problem solver with excellent organisational skills, commercial acumen, and a commitment to delivering successful project outcomes that support UCOL's strategic objectives.
