Job summary

Tourism Holdings Limited, trading as thl, is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Christchurch Rental Operations. This senior role carries responsibility for operational performance, people leadership, customer outcomes, health and safety, financial results and continuous improvement across a large, fast-paced rental operation.

You will report to the National Operations Manager and work with branch managers and team leaders to deliver a safe, sustainable, high-performing workplace

Job description

thl is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Branch Manager to lead our Christchurch Rental Operations branch. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, people leadership, customer outcomes, health and safety, financial results and continuous improvement across a large, fast-paced rental operation.

About the role:

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will provide senior operational leadership for the branch, leading through department managers and team leaders to create a safe, sustainable and high-performing workplace. You will own branch performance across people, operations, customer experience, cost control, revenue, productivity and P&L outcomes.

You’ll work closely with national branch managers and key functional leaders to drive operational effectiveness, quality outcomes and long-term business performance. This role suits a hands-on, strategic leader who can bring clarity, energy and direction through periods of change and ambiguity.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and develop a large operational team through managers and team leaders.
• Drive branch performance across safety, customer service, quality, productivity, revenue, costs and P&L.
• Own the branch business plan, performance targets, reporting and corrective actions.
• Create a positive, performance-based culture where teams are engaged, accountable and proud of their work.
• Champion health and safety, compliance, employment relations standards and company procedures.
• Use data and operational insights to identify trends, solve problems and improve decision making.
• Build strong relationships across national functions, branch leadership teams and key stakeholders.
• Lead change with clear communication, strong planning and calm, confident decision making.

About you:

You’ll be an experienced operational leader with strong commercial acumen, proven financial accountability and the ability to lead large teams in a complex, fast-moving environment. You’re practical, people-focused and confident making decisions that balance customer experience, team wellbeing, compliance and business performance.

• Proven experience leading large operational teams, ideally through leaders.
• Strong financial, commercial and P&L management capability.
• Confidence with business planning, KPI delivery and performance reporting.
• Experience leading change, managing ambiguity and setting clear priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach and motivate others.
• Sound employment relations judgement and a commitment to building respectful team environments.
• A proactive approach to health, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
