Job summary

RealNZ in Wanaka, New Zealand, seeks a BI / Data Engineer to become the technical backbone of our Data Platform, turning raw data into trusted, self-serve insights for our teams. You’ll design and build data pipelines, models, and a semantic layer that powers reporting, analytics, and emerging AI tools, while collaborating with BI Analysts and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a data engineer or BI developer with dimensional modelling and data warehousing.
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing pipelines and queries.
• Experience building a semantic layer and data governance/quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines, models, and a semantic layer supporting reporting, analytics, and AI tools.
• Collaborate with BI Analysts and stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data solutions.
• Support Power BI and analytics development while ensuring data governance and quality across the platform.
