Job summary

BDO Hawke's Bay is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory team. You will work with a broad portfolio of clients to deliver accounting, tax and advisory services that support growth and sound financial decisions.

In this hands-on role, you will prepare financial statements, manage reporting, budgeting and cashflow forecasting, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with Managers and Partners on complex matters.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years' experience within Business Advisory Services in a CA environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CAANZ or ACCA qualification (or nearing completion).
• Strong experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and management reports.
• Exposure to Xero, MYOB and cloud-based accounting systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Deliver management reporting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting and business performance analysis
• Prepare tax returns and identify tax planning and restructuring opportunities

About The Role

As a Senior Accountant in our Business Advisory team, you'll work closely with a broad portfolio of clients, helping them make informed business decisions and achieve their financial goals. You'll provide accounting, tax and business advisory services while building strong relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.

This is a hands‑on role offering exposure to financial reporting, management accounting, tax advisory, budgeting and cashflow forecasting, business planning and client advisory. You'll also have the opportunity to support and mentor junior team members while working closely with Managers and Partners on more complex client matters.
