Job summary

BDO Auckland is seeking a BAS Accountant to join our Business Advisory team, helping clients with financial reporting, tax compliance, management accounting and advisory work across diverse industries.

You will work with a range of clients to support growth, requiring strong communication, commercial acumen, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of our collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years' BAS experience, ideally with a similar client base.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• CA or ACCA qualified.
• A high level of interpersonal skills.
• Confident, commercially savvy, innovative, detail-oriented.
• Thrive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Apply accounting standards, prepare financial statements, and manage reporting functions.
• Prepare management reports, budgets, and cash flows for client.
• Stay updated on tax laws, prepare accurate tax returns, and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Identify business issues, create growth plans, and advise on financial matters.
• Understand filing requirements, identify trust opportunities, and implement accounting packages.
