Job summary

Centrally located in Auckland CBD, the award-winning boutique Fable Auckland Hotel is looking for a Bartender to elevate our Restaurant and Bar service. You will work in the bar primarily while assisting other F&B Attendants with front-of-house tasks, with evening shifts and availability on weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a professional bartender in a hospitality setting.
• Solid knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits and beverage service.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays; strong sales approach.
• NZ Citizen, Resident, or holder of a valid work visa is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the bar for successful service.
• Create and serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Deliver friendly, professional service to guests and patrons.
• Maintain high beverage quality and presentation.
• Support Attendants with beverages and food during busy times.
• Assist with banquet services.
• Improve beverage menus and promote cocktails.
• Monitor ingredients and adjust menus seasonally.
• Keep bar areas clean and stocked.

About the role

Centrally located in the heart of Auckland CBD, the award-winning boutique Fable Auckland Hotel is looking for a Bartender to help elevate our Restaurant and Bar service to the next level.

You will be working in the bar primarily whilst assisting other F&B Attendants with front-of-house and banquet tasks when needed. This position mainly covers evening shifts and requires weekends and public holidays availability.

Responsibilities include

• Prepare and set up the bar for successful service
• Create and serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to hotel guests and restaurant customers
• Deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to hotel guests and restaurant patrons
• Maintain high standards of beverage quality, presentation and customer experience
• Support Food and Beverage Attendants with beverages and food during busy services
• Assist with banquet services
• Assist in improving the Restaurant's Beverage menus and promote a marketable cocktail list
• Be aware of ingredients seasonality and adjust the Beverage Menu accordingly
• Ensure the bar areas are clean and tidy
• Manage stocks levels of the bar and in-room mini bars.

Skills & requirements

• Previous experience as a professional bartender, preferably in a 5-star environment.
• A sound understanding of the Sales and Supply of Alcohol Act
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work evening, weekends and public holidays shifts
• Confidence in recommending products and maximising sales opportunities
• Proactive organisation and planning skills
• An excellent and charismatic communicator
• Reliable, punctual, professional and well presented
• NZ Citizen, Resident, or holder of a valid work visa is a must!
