Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Bar Manager for Newtown Sports Bar in Wellington. You will manage the bar autonomously, overseeing inventory, budgeting, product mix, and promotions, while coordinating events and activations. The role also covers staff rostering, cash handling, deliveries, and gaming operations.

Experience in liquor retail with a Duty Managers Certificate is required; food certification is a plus, with training provided.

• Must hold a Duty Managers Certificate with liquor retail experience.
• Food certification is preferable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage the store on your own, including inventory control and budgeting.
• Determine product mix through marketing and offerings; manage promotions and activations.
• Plan and host events/functions and musical performances.
• Staff rostering and staff management; handle cash-ups and deliveries.
• TAB management and Pokies management; ensure safety and compliance.
• You must be physically fit due to lifting around kegs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with extensive retail experience to join our team.

An opportunity has arisen in ourNewtown Sports Barfor a BarManager role. This role includes managing the store on your own, from inventory control, budgeting, marketing to determine product mix, food offerings, and managing promotions and activations. Managing events/Functions and hosting musical events. Other duties include Staff Rostering, staff management, Store Cash-ups, receiving/dispatching deliveries, TAB Management, and Pokies management. You need to be physically fit as there maybe some lifting involved around Kegs etc. You must have a Duty Managers Certificate with at least 1-year or more liquor retail experience.

Food certification is preferable but not compulsory as training will be provided.
