Job summary

WHEATZ BAKERY LIMITED in Auckland is seeking an experienced Bakery Manufacturing Manager to lead our bakery production operation, including wholesale and our own outlets. This hands-on role requires early mornings and flexibility across shifts to meet schedules.

You will own production strategy, budget, quality and safety, manage a cross-functional team of bakers, and partner with sales on demand and new product launches. Immediate or by agreement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in food or bakery production.

Responsibilities

• Determine and implement production strategy and schedules across all shifts for wholesale supply and outlets.
• Own the production budget and cost performance, including labour, ingredients and wastage.
• Control equipment maintenance, capital equipment purchasing, and quality/food safety standards across the production facility.
• Coordinate health and safety requirements and ensure H&S compliance.
• Direct bakers and production staff across all shifts, including rostering and performance management.
• Partner with sales on demand forecasts and new product launches.
• Report to the Director on production performance and growth opportunities.
