Job summary

WHEATZ BAKERY LIMITED in Auckland is seeking an experienced Bakery Manufacturing Manager to lead the bakery production operation, delivering products to cafés, restaurants and retailers, including our own outlets.

You will own production strategy, output, cost and staffing across all shifts and product lines, working closely with the Director and other teams to align capacity with demand and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on bakery production management experience required.
• Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting and quality standards.
• Experience with health and safety compliance in a production environment.
• Ability to lead and develop production teams across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute production strategy and schedules across all shifts.
• Own the production budget, labour, ingredients and wastage targets.
• Maintain equipment, capital purchases and quality/food safety records.
• Oversee health and safety compliance across the facility.
• Lead bakers and production staff including rostering, training and performance management.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales on forecasts and new product launches.
• Report to the Director on performance, capacity and growth opportunities.
