Job summary

WHEATZ BAKERY LIMITED in Auckland City is seeking an experienced Bakery Manufacturing Manager to lead our production operation, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery across wholesale and retail channels.

This hands-on role manages shifts, budgets, staffing and equipment, collaborating with marketing and sales on demand forecasts and new product launches.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 5+ years in food production; NZ experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology/Science/Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in food/bakery production if no formal qualification.
• A Level 4+ in food production/bakery trades highly regarded in addition to work experience.
• Experience managing a full bakery/food production team across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Determine and implement production strategy and schedules across all shifts for wholesale and own outlets.
• Own the production budget and control costs including labour, ingredients and wastage.
• Maintain equipment, capital purchases and quality/food safety standards.
• Oversee health and safety requirements and ensure compliance across the facility.
• Direct bakers and production staff across shifts, including rostering, training and performance management.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on demand forecasts and product launches.
• Report production performance and growth opportunities to the Director.
