Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or fresh foods, with leadership experience.
• Strong people management and communication skills.

• Proactive and organized approach focused on developing people and improving performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of Bakery department, ensuring quality, freshness, availability and presentation.
• Lead, motivate, train and develop team to deliver service and achieve departmental goals.
• Drive sales, gross profit and profitability while controlling wage costs, stock levels and wastage.
• Ensure accurate ordering, stocktaking, pricing, promotions and admin.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, hygiene and compliance.
• Ensure equipment is safe and staff training and checks recorded.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and wider team to support store objectives and company values.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the Bakery department, ensuring excellent product quality, freshness, availability and presentation.
• Lead, motivate, train and develop team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve departmental goals.
• Drive sales, gross profit and profitability while controlling wage costs, stock levels and wastage.
• Ensure accurate ordering, stocktaking, pricing, promotions and departmental administration.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, hygiene and legal compliance.
• Ensure equipment is safe, team members are appropriately trained and all required checks and records are completed.
• Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and wider team to support store objectives and promote company values.

About You

• Experience in bakery, fresh food or food retail, ideally in a leadership role.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness, with an understanding of sales, profit, stock control and wastage.
• A commitment to food quality, customer satisfaction, food safety and health and safety.
• A proactive, organised approach with a passion for developing people and improving performance.
