Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a hands-on Bakery Leader to work closely with the Bakery Manager, coordinating daily production, maintaining food safety and quality, and ensuring fresh bakery products for our customers.

You will lead the bakery team in a fast-paced supermarket, plan production, manage stock, monitor wastage and uphold high presentation standards with flexible hours, including early starts, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a supermarket or high-volume bakery environment.
• Strong knowledge of bakery production and preparation.
• Experience producing a range of breads, rolls, pastries, cakes and other bakery products.
• Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience preferred.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bakery Manager with daily production planning and coordination.
• Lead the bakery team to ensure high quality, fresh products.
• Monitor stock, assist with ordering and minimize waste.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Rotate stock and ensure correct storage standards.
• Take responsibility for the department in the manager's absence.
• Motivate and support team members and maintain department standards.

Play a key role in leading the bakery team,coordinating daily production, maintaining food safety and quality standards,managing stock and ensuring our customers have access to fresh, high-qualitybakery products every day.

As thisis a hands-on leadership position, we are looking for someone who is confidentworking alongside the team, can manage andenjoys working in a fast-paced supermarket environment.

KeyResponsibilities

Youwill be responsible for supporting the Bakery Manager with:

• Taking responsibility forthe department in her absence.
• Planning and coordinatingdaily bakery production and ensure that customer demands are met.
• Baking and preparing avariety of breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, slices and other bakeryproducts as well as finishing products to a high presentation standard
• Maintaining consistentproduct quality and freshness
• Ensuring excellent productavailability throughout the day and monitoring stock levels andassisting with ordering
• Rotating stock correctlyand maintaining appropriate storage standards
• Monitoring and reducingproduct wastage
• Completing required foodsafety and temperature checks
• Ensuring all food safety,hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed
• Identifying and reportingmaintenance, equipment or safety issues

AboutYou

Theideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in asupermarket or high-volume bakery environment

• Knowledge on SAP would be an advantage, but full training will be given

Salary:

$31 per hour, depending on experience andskills.
