Job summary

Foodstuffs NZ in Timaru is offering an excellent bakery apprentice role. You’ll start your journey by learning dough production—mixing, shaping, and baking—while training under an experienced team.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in scratch baking daily bread and sweet products, icing cakes, and helping prep for the next day, with emphasis on food safety and keeping the area clean. This permanent full-time position includes one weekend day and the chance to complete the NZ Certificate in Baking

Responsibilities

• Dough production: mixing, shaping, baking.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitisation of the bakery area.

Are you ready to rise to the occasion! We have an excellent opportunity for someone to start their apprentice journey as a Bakery Apprentice!!! We’re committed to supporting the successful applicant through apprenticeship, completing The New Zealand Certificate in Baking Level 4. You’ll train alongside a skilled supportive team who are dedicated to helping you successfully complete your baker apprenticeship.

This role is all about dough production. Mixing it, shaping it, baking it, and making sure our shelves are stocked with the breads our customers can’t resist. You will learn scratch baking our daily bread and sweet products, baking, icing and decorating cakes, and help prep and plan for the following day so everything runs smoothly.
