Job summary

Bakehaven Cafe in Mangere, Auckland is hiring two full-time Bakers & Pastry Cooks for a busy cafe. The role requires 3+ years of bakery experience, strong baking skills across breads, muffins, pies and desserts, and the ability to work well in a team.

You will load/unload trays, prepare fillings and ensure food safety while maintaining clean equipment and managing ingredients. Hours: 30–50 weekly; pay: 30–32 NZD per hour + holiday pay and sick leave. NZ residency or work rights required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant bakery experience in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of baking equipment and ability to bake a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts.

Responsibilities

• Check quality of raw ingredients.

Full-time; $30 - $32 per hour

Remuneration / Hours of Work: $30.00 - 32.00 p/hr, Full time / Permanent

Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 per week; hourly rate plus holiday pay and paid sick leave. Max. hours not exceeding 50 per week.

BAKEHAVEN CAFE , Mangere, Auckland (NZ) based BAKERS required for busy Cafe . Ideal candidates must have a positive work attitude to deal with customers from various nationalities;knowledge and experience using baking equipment, know how to bake, make slices, muffins, donuts, pies, bread rolls, custards, sauces, chocolates, pastries, desserts, decoration; handling seafood and meat as part of the job. Food safety is priority.

Skills must include:

• Bake different kinds of bread, muffins, and sweets within time frame.
• Should be able to bake using meat and seafood
• Must have competency in handling seafood to know if it has spoilt under certain temperature
• Should be able to load, unload, de-pan, cool, empty, clean, grease baking trays and other cooking equipment
• Order ingredients and supplies gauging average daily consumption
• Keep clean and well maintained all equipment
• Excellent hand to eye coordination
• Clear team communication
• Food handling and hygiene
• Follow the Roster, start and finish on time
• Must be able to deal with customers in a friendly and outgoing manner

Applicants must have:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience working as a Baker / Pastry Cook in a commercial setting OR
• Business hours: Mon – Fri : 6:00 am – 5:00pm

Rostered work over 7 days will be between these hours:

Monday to Sunday: between3:00am – 5:00pm
