Job summary

New World New Plymouth is seeking an experienced Senior Baker to join our Bakery team. You will produce bread, rolls, buns and related products to a high standard and manage daily bake requirements to keep core lines available for customers.

Ideal candidates have proven bread baking experience, strong production skills, and the ability to work at pace in a busy supermarket bakery. Early starts and a reliability-focused attitude are essential.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Baker to join our Bakery team at New World New Plymouth

This is an immediate start role for someone who is confident working on the bakery production, can manage daily bake requirements, and takes pride in quality, consistency, and presentation. Supermarket bakery experience is preferred.

About the role

• Producing bread, rolls, buns, and related bakery products to a high standard
• Mixing, scaling, molding, proving, baking, and finishing bread products
• Managing daily production to ensure key lines are available and fresh
• Following production plans, recipes, food safety standards, and cleaning routines
• Keeping bread displays full, fresh, well presented, and correctly rotated
• Monitoring quality, bake consistency, waste, and availability throughout the day
• Working with the Bakery Manager and wider team to support a strong bakery offer

We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven bread baking experience and all-round Baking qualities
• Strong practical skills across production
• Supermarket bakery experience an advantage
• Confidence working with doughs, proving, ovens, sweet and savory products, and production deadlines
• High standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety
• Reliability, punctuality, and comfort with early starts
• Ability to work at pace in a busy production environment
• A team-first attitude and good communication
