Job summary

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to shape AUT’s cloud platform. You will design, implement and optimize Azure environments, manage Terraform-based infrastructure, and collaborate with teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud services on AUT’s city campus.

With at least eight years in infrastructure and five years in Azure cloud engineering, you will mentor colleagues, drive best practices, and help align cloud strategies withAUT’s goals.

Qualifications

• Eight years’ experience across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Five years’ hands-on Azure cloud engineering or related field.
• Ability to design and implement scalable cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and improve AUT’s Microsoft Azure environment.
• Maintain and improve Azure hub-and-spoke network architecture using landing-zone principles.
• Develop and maintain Terraform IaC with reusable modules.
• Integrate Terraform with Azure DevOps Pipelines and Repos.
• Support Azure identity, access management, governance and security controls.
• Monitor cloud platform health, security, performance and cost.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cloud engineering practices.
