Job summary

Aviation Tutorial Assistant role at Nelson Campus within Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT). The position is permanent, full-time (5 days a week, 36 hours), and involves supporting aviation teaching staff, preparing resources, and assisting with training and assessments.

The successful candidate will have a teaching/instructor background or a willingness to develop in this area, plus a relevant aviation or mechanical qualification and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• NCEA Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) with experience in aviation or mechanical field OR Level 4 National Certificate in associated field
• Full clean drivers license (Forklift license an advantage)
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships while being sensitive to students' needs
• Teaching/instructor background and/or a willingness to learn and develop this skill is preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing teaching resources for tutors
• Assist with tutors with training and assessments
• Assisting students to prepare training documentation and evidence of learning
• Maintaining training equipment and inventories
