Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking a data-driven Demand Planner based in Christchurch to forecast material demand for aircraft maintenance and maximise fleet availability. You will translate schedules, maintenance activity and historical consumption into forward-looking plans using statistical forecasting techniques.

Collaborate across maintenance, engineering and supply planning to improve forecasting methods and drive data-driven planning across the Aircraft Availability Tribe.

Qualifications

• Experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply planning or similar analytical role
• Strong knowledge of forecasting principles and how to apply methods to intermittent or event-driven demand
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable planning decisions
• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain, inventory planning and lead times

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material demand forecasts to support aircraft maintenance and fleet availability
• Translate schedules, fleet activity and historical consumption into forward-looking demand plans using statistical forecasting
• Partner with Maintenance Planning, Engineering, Production and Supply Planning to identify material risks and support mitigation
• Analyse forecast accuracy, demand trends and inventory performance to improve planning outcomes
• Provide forecasting expertise across the Aircraft Availability Tribe and Supply Chain
• Drive continuous improvement through enhanced forecasting methods and data-driven planning
